The 2008 Boat House Wing Bowl
Our second annual Wing Bowl contest took place on Sunday, January, 27, 2008. Congratulations to winner David Black from Media, PA!
Dave consumed 39 wings in 15 minutes! He was followed closely by 2nd Place winner "The" Brian Cronin (Media) with 37 wings and 3rd Place winner Brett McCoy (Media) with 20 wings.
A total of 8 contestants participated in a 10 minute messy wing eating frenzy! Unlike last year's contest, the top 3 had a brief 2 minute break before battling it out for another 5 minutes! Judges made sure wings were cleaned to the bone before tallying!
Mr. Black won Grand Prizes including a pair of Phillies Tickets to Opening Day, a $100 Boat House Gift Card, Free Dozen Wings once a month in 2008, and a Yuengling T-Shirt. Dave has been a Media resident for almost 50 years. One of his first jobs was working for Campbell Brothers Arco in 1973, formerly owned by current Boat House co-owner Bob Campbell and his brothers. He frequents the Boat House on a weekly basis with his father-in-law Tommy Flynn and enjoys our Famous Hot Roast Beef and Cheese, a menu item for 38 years. Dave is a Facilities Manager at Eadeh Enterprises in Berwyn. He lives with his wife Diane and daughter Emily, also regular Boat House customers. He enjoys vacationing in Sea Isle City, NJ and taking walks with his dog. Congratulations Dave!
